Paul has an extensive background in safeguarding children with a career spanning more than 25 years. He’s a qualified and registered social worker and is currently the LADO for a local authority in the South East of England and co-chair of a Regional LADO network.  In a previous role he led on developing safeguarding practice in schools for a local authority.

Paul is passionate about delivering high quality training and consultancy services to a wide range of organisations. He’s had the privilege of working with schools, fostering agencies, childrens services and local government organisations.  He has also partnered with a number of private, voluntary and independent sector organisations including many large sports, youth and faith groups. He’s supported thousands of professionals and volunteers to develop their safeguarding knowledge and skills and enabled them to contribute to a safeguarding culture.

For a several years Paul was a lead trainer for a Local Safeguarding Children Partnership and was known for delivering sensitive and challenging content in an engaging and accessible way. Delegates often comment on his compelling training style and his use of real life case examples to draw out valuable learning. Paul's approach is characterised by collaboration and a firm commitment to values which ensures all stakeholders are actively involved in creating safer environments for children and vulnerable adults .

As well as his professional experience Paul has supported a large Catholic Diocese as a member of their safeguarding commission and is a School Governor and Safeguarding link Governor for a large primary school.
